On March 8, 2018, we celebrated International Women’s Day alongside World Kidney Day, combining the themes of “Kidneys and Women’s Health.” This year, in partnership with the Atanga Kidney Foundation, Happy Mother Happy Child hosted a kidney awareness talk in the Makepe-Douala locality. With the support of student doctors from the University of Douala, the event provided valuable insights into kidney health and its vital role in women's overall well-being.

During the awareness campaign, women and girls learned practical steps to protect and care for their kidneys, ensuring a healthier future. This initiative also aligned with global movements championed by organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) and UN Women, reinforcing that “Women’s Health is a Human Right.” The event echoed our core belief: A healthy woman creates a healthier family and society.

This celebration was further supported by notable partners, including I Love Mama, US Embassy Youth Councils Inc., and Atlas Corps, amplifying the outreach and making a lasting impact in the community.

Together, we pressed for progress, fostering empowerment, education, and proactive health measures for women everywhere. Happy Mother Happy Child remains committed to driving change, one story at a time.
